Why did you start travel blogging? How long have you been doing it?
I only began blogging in October 2016. My friends and family, as well as social media followers were constantly asking me to create a platform where I could share my travel tips, since I'm always on the go.
After a lot of debating, I decided to create my blog.
Name your top 3 most memorable places?
This is a hard question because there are so many! Some are memorable because of the experience, some because of the hotels, and others because of the destination itself.
But if I had to choose, I guess it would be St Tropez, South Africa and recently Jerusalem.
What’s the best thing about being a travel blogger?
Absorbing all the different cultures. I simply love it.
And the worst?! (if there is one)
Once travel becomes your work, there’s no such thing as a vacation anymore. Any trip = work.
Give your top tip to a blogger starting out
Besides planning and organising everything before going live, really take the time to think about branding: what sets you apart from other existing blogs, what's your niche, etc. I think it makes all the difference.
Once you have a clear picture of what you aim to achieve, you won't be easily distracted.
The amount of work in the beginning can be extremely overwhelming, and it's easy to get lost in your tracks.
Hotel freebies: take ‘em’ or leave ‘em’?
Take ‘em’ ONLY if they match your lifestyle and readers’ profile. Do NOT sell yourself short!!
What’s at the top of your list for destinations this year?
Portugal, Russia and Bhutan. I'm also very keen on Botswana.
Why should people subscribe to your page?
To find out about the hottest new restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and events, as well as cool and trendy global destinations.
What’s the most unusual thing you’ve eaten on your travels?
I’m not the biggest eater, and certainly not adventurous when it comes to food, so nothing very exotic really comes to mind now…I'll have to give this more thought!
Name a place, city, or country where you feel happiest?
Mykonos :) It's one of my favourite places! There’s something about the energy and vibe of the island.
Where’s your next adventure?
I’m going to a wedding in Greece in June.
